Torn beyond reason sets a depressive post-black metal in its purest form. All you need for such a sound is in the mix, including crushing distortion, shrieking and passionate black metal vocals, blastbeats, darkness and pain. Although songs structure isn't something completly new, the way it's done and the production make it an almost perfect record, filled with emotion, passion, agressivity and gloominess.
